MLB’s all-time greats are often celebrated for individual achievements, such as milestone home runs, 3000th hits, 300 wins and more. Teams will sometimes commission an official special logo game ball to mark their player’s retirement, number/jersey retirement, Hall of Fame induction, MVP Award, or other on-field achievement.
We’re also including official ROMLB logo commemoratives that did not make it into game play and technically are more promotional in use; they’re official game balls none the less. Those are typically special logo baseballs distributed and sold after the milestone is achieved, such as a 3000th hit or 500th home run milestone. Authorized Rawlings dealers and Rawlings itself can also produce a special commemorative baseball to recognize players’ accomplishments and awards, and sometimes these logoballs are used exclusively for dealer signings.
All baseballs included here and added in future seasons will be official Rawlings Big League ROMLB-grade baseballs covered in the highest class of official cowhide leather. They’re made to the same exacting specifications as those used in regulation games and other league-sanctioned events. In other words, these gems all deserve their place in the esteemed Museum of Baseballs.
