Also simply called the Serie Nacional (National Series), which is an amateur league that consists of 16 teams. “It was established in 1961, after Fidel Castro abolished professional sports on the island,” according to MLB.com.
Official Game Balls is seeking more images and baseballs from the Cuban baseball league system, which is governed by the Baseball Federation of Cuba. Please reach out if you have anything related to the old Cuban League and the minor league Havana Sugar Kings.
